Rebates for the Solar Homes and Communities Plan (SHCP) and Renewable Remote Power Generation Program (RRPGP) finished on the 9th June 2009.
However, the Australian Federal Government continues to support households, business and community groups with its “Solar Credits” scheme.
Please see the
fact sheet attached for more information on the Solar Credits Scheme.
On Wednesday 27 October 2010, the NSW Government announced that it was cutting it's popular NSW Solar Bonus Scheme from 60 cents to 20 cents/kWh, effective midnight.
RENEWABLE ENERGY CERTIFICATES (RECs)
The Mandatory Renewable Energy Target (MRET) supports the reduction of Australia's greenhouse gas emissions by increasing the proportion of Australia's electricity generated from renewable sources. This is achieved through a market-based scheme that trades in Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Owners of photovoltaic systems may be able to create and sell RECs to help offset the cost of installing renewable energy technology.
